About the Program
Established in 2022 in combination with the Pathfinder Peer Mentoring program. The Pathfinder Alumni Youth Council was developed to foster, support, and develop leaders who will become voices of change for communities of color. To build collaboration, unity, community amongst youth who will support each other through their journey. The Fremont High School Alumni Foundation (FHSAF) is appreciative of Pathfinder Alumni youth who have committed to volunteering to impact change in their community. Goals and objectives at FHSAF are met with good faith, integrity, and ethical standards rooted in sharing narratives that will inspire and cultivate learning and understanding and guidance of the Board amongst volunteers and Advisory Board Council.
Meet our Youth Council
The Youth Council serves to mentor and create community with current high school students and Pathfinder alumni. In addition, they advise the foundation's directors on how current and future alumni wish to see the foundation function.
How to get involved?
General Criteria

Volunteers should demonstrate a passion to empower change, help underserved youth and assist the diverse set of communities found within South Los Angeles. Applicants must demonstrate a willingness to learn, collaborate, and participate in professional development trainings in addition to team-building extracurricular activities. Volunteers are expected to maintain clear communication with each other and board members to allow for timely scheduling of events, due dates. All volunteers are expected to be adherent to the policies and procedures of the Fremont Alumni Foundation.

Be a current senior at John C Fremont High School

Pathfinder Alumni
Youth Council Responsibilities

Dedicate 1-2 hours once per month for member meetings

Dedicate 1-2 hours per week towards projects
-
Expected to commit a minimum of one year as part of the Youth Council

Maintain clear communication with FHSAF member for scheduling purposes

Keep track of volunteer hours and submit during monthly meetings
-
Be open to learning and engaging with a diverse workforce
